Sometimes I get so busy and engaged that I loose sight of all those things I create. Todays feature is about something we created with a group of friends and colleagues over the past 5 years: ANSA e.V., the Alumni Network Sub-Sahara Africa

ANSA is an association. A network bringing together German and African scholarship holders and alumni of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) – Germany’s largest organisation to grant full scholarships to German students to pursue their studies at Universities in African countries and students from African countries to pursue their studies at Universities in Germany.

We wanted ANSA to be a platform where we create something that evolves from our shared experiences of living, studying and working in our and in each others respective countries/ continents.

Today, it is not utopia. But it is one of those unique spaces, where people open up to discussions about perspectives, concerns and inspirations in a way I am rarely experiencing in intercultural settings and contexts. A curious space that creates its own rules to functioning and that, to my fascination, is used in order to carry inspirations from discussions into projects that are implement together. And so become reality – in form of conferences, in photo exhibitions, in article compilations, in skills workshops and in so much more.

Diderot caught some of this with his camera during our last meetings – impress yourself with some of his impressions …
