This Moonday’s Magic is a practical guide to a week full of handmade heavens of creations. Dive in and find out about your secret hidden do-it-yourself / DIY passions. Yes, create something with your own hands, stimulate your entire perception system with the dazzling sensations, smells and flavours, use your intuition on how to put things together, experience the entire production process and enjoy holding a tangible product in your hands at the end and feel like you are in heaven.

Make your own elderly flower sirup!
Its quite simple: plug elderly flower doldes, as you see above, melt brown sugar with hot water in a bowl, let it cool down a bit, add the elderly flower doldes and keep everything in the fridge until the flavor of the flowers has entered the liquids. And then: enjoy some of it every day in this coming week – be it with ice cubes, sparkling water or champagne – and celebrate yourself and your ability to create!

If you really can’t find any elderly flowers around come up with something else, bake a bread or make some lemonade!

Creating something lays at the base of  our economic productivity. Creating things in our modern – but nevertheless rather recent – business mode mostly takes the shape of ideas that are programmed, concepts that are drafted and presented or words that are typed out on a laptop screen.

In the millions of years preceding our modern knowledge economy, creating meant something entirely different for our brain. It meant receiving dense and diverse motor-sensual input and stimuli. It meant processing those stimuli to guide the complex interplay of the different parts of the body. It meant using the entire body and sensual system in order to create an output. A mostly tangible output.

Creations on a piece of paper or on a computer screen are something very beautiful, they do get boring and tiering for both, our brain and body after some time. It is beautiful to gift ourself with some more tangible creations from time to time. Especially since our perception of a tangible output gives us the feeling and our brain the information that we have reached something. That we have concluded something. That we can celebrate ourselves and take a break.

You will be amazed how much more effective you will be able to create at your desktop afterwards!

Add brown sugar into a bowl – as much as you like (or replace sugar with honey!).

Mix it with boiling water until the sugar is fully dissolved. Let it cool down.

Add the Elderly Flower Dolden. People like to add citric acid and lemon/orange, I chose to keep it plain.

Cover the bowl and keep it in the fridge until the flavour has gone into the sirup.

Enjoy!

If you feel more safe with instructions, google them or find some in English or in German.
